Leh Arrival and Rest Day

Welcome to Ladakh, the highland desert! When landing at Kushok Bakula Rimpochee airport, you will be picked up by our representative and transferred to the hotel for check-in. As you know, it is a high-altitude desert city, so today you can have a rest and get accustomed to the altitude. In the evening, you can explore Leh Main Bazaar on foot and experience the local mountain culture.

Explore Scenic Sham Valley

The day begins with a scenic drive on the Srinagar-Leh highway. You will witness the magnetic pull of the Magnetic Hill and visit the revered Gurudwara Pathar Sahib and Hall of Fame on the way. On our way back, we drive through the narrow winding roads of an old mountain pass offering panoramic views of valleys and snow-capped mountains. The highlight of the day is the view of the confluence of the beautiful green Indus and the muddied Zanskar Rivers at the Sangam.

Khardung La to Nubra

Be prepared to be blown away by this one of a kind experience as you drive through Khardung La (one of the highest passes at 17,582ft.) on your way to Nubra valley (also called as the “Orchard of Ladakh”). Explore the ancient Diskit monastery perched on a hilltop, admire the view of the giant statue of Maitreya Buddha and take an exciting dune bashing ride on the camel safari through the white sand dunes of Hundar to spot the rare double humped Bactrian camel.

Journey to Pangong Tso

Leave the sand dunes behind and head towards a more rugged route. Follow the Shyok River towards the saltwater lake. As the road opens up, you will be able to see the 134-km long expanse of the lake. Watch how the color of the water changes to different shades of blue. Spend a night in the tent camping near the shore under a clear sky full of stars.

Pangong Sunrise and Return

Wake up early for a magical sunrise, which will take your breath away as you watch the first rays of the sun turn the surrounding mountains and the waters of beautiful Pangong into a shimmering gold. Post breakfast, we head back to Leh, crossing the Chang La pass. On the way back we visit the multi-tiered Thiksey Monastery and the ancient Shey Palace.

Leh Local Heritage Tour

Spend your day enjoying the splendor of both royalty and monasteries that have stood the test of time, and marvel at the grandeur of the mountains surrounding this Himalayan capital. Take your time meandering through these urban sprawls, discovering their fascinating histories, unique cultures, and tranquil environments. Discover a 17th-century Leh Palace with a vista over the city or hike to the top of the magnificent white-domed Shanti Stupa for spectacular views over the Stok Kangri range. The rest of your day is ideally timed for souvenir shopping with a plethora of pashmina and handicraft shops waiting for you.

Enjoy your last Ladakhi breakfast before checking out of your hotel. Our representative will assist you in your departure and reach Leh Airport, where you will fly off to your home city.
